About me.
The first thing you I want to share is that I believe in a relaxed and casual environment. So please call me Brent.
I was born and raised in Albuquerque. Growing up, much of my focus was on sports and I was fortunate enough to gain the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level. A sports background really fostered the value of teamwork and hardwork in everything I do.
Unlike most in this field, I have no family members who are dentists. My interest began when my father was referred to a local periodontist for some major dental work. This doctor suggested I come visit his office and see what he does. I loved what I saw so much, that switched my major and spent the next year working as his dental assistant. He became an inspiring mentor and directly helped shape my journey to here. My experience as a dental assistant also greatly influenced my view on patient relations. I learned early that strong listening and communication skills are the most important part of patient care. Also, I believe in strong explanation and education. This is your body, you have the right to be informed and make the decision best for you
My initial training was at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry where I gained invaluable hands-on experience and cemented my decision to specialize. I moved on to a residency and masters degree program at the University of Minnesota. Here I was trained in dento-alveolar surgery and advanced sedation techniques. To grow my skills further, I moonlighted during my residency.
Today, I am thrilled and excited everyday for my job helping people feel better and feel better about themselves. I can honestly say that I have never worked a day in my life and my greatest passion is oral rehabilitation involving dental implants.
When I’m not at one of many offices, I spend time with my wife Andrea and two dogs Lilo and Asoka. We are active and social people often preferring hiking, traveling, exercise and group settings to quiet. Sundays are for watching the Cowboys. I enjoy grilling and any time I can get to the lake. Both of us being in healthcare, my wife and I have a passion for learning and giving our best to the patients we see.
Thank you so much and I look forward to serving you.
